Monthly gathering where anyone can take a turn at the microphone and tell a true, five-minute story based on that month’s theme. Held the third Tuesday of the month at 7 pm.


 

PechaKucha Night York features inspiring presentations from York’s makers and doers on their respective crafts, utilizing the PechaKucha presentation format: 20 slides that automatically advance every 20 seconds. Events held quarterly. Free admission.


Barter-based education series. We offer a week’s worth of sessions (up to three per day) four times per year on a variety of topics. Sessions can be in the form of a hands-on workshop, a lecture/demonstration, or some combination of the two. There is no monetary registration fee; instead, each instructor suggests items or services they will accept in exchange for class participation, and a list is included with each class description.


 

Independent concert series hosted at York’s Central Market (and occasionally other places) and featuring national touring acts in intimate evening performances.


Annual event featuring a collection of neighbors that each share their experience related to a specific aspect of their identity in the form of one to one conversations with attendees. It aims to establish an open, honest conversational space, inviting meaningful connections.


 

Annual festival that provides a platform for innovative live arts in the City of York. This five-day, multi-venue celebration of performance art hosted more than 40 performances in 2019 with over 1,250 attendees. On hiatus since 2020, Fringe will make its return in 2024.
